And So the Story Goes

And So the Story Goes is an abstract response to the Australian landscape — its vastness, shifting light, and the quiet stories embedded within the land. Rather than representing a specific location, this work explores the idea of place as a living narrative, shaped by time, memory, and human presence.

Created using acrylic and oil sticks, the painting builds through layered gestures and textured marks. Earthy reds, sun-softened pinks, deep greens, and passages of blue echo the colours of the Australian environment, while abstracted forms suggest pathways, dwellings, and horizons that emerge and dissolve across the surface. These elements hint at moments of connection between land and life, without defining a single story.
