Living Near Water 2

Living Near Water 2 reflects the quiet yet powerful presence of water in shaping both landscapes and human experience. In this abstract composition, layered shades of blue flow across the canvas, suggesting movement, depth, and the ever-changing rhythm of water. Fragments of architectural forms, a bridge-like structure, and hints of natural elements appear within the composition, merging memory, place, and imagination.

The painting draws inspiration from environments where water becomes part of everyday life — where reflections, currents, and shifting light influence how we see and feel the world around us. Through intuitive mark-making and expressive colour contrasts, the work captures a sense of fluidity and connection between land, structure, and nature.

Rather than depicting a specific location, Living Near Water 2 invites the viewer to explore their own associations with water — whether it is calm, movement, nostalgia, or transformation. The layered forms and colours create a visual journey, echoing the way water carries stories through time and landscape.
